What is it with net dudes?!?
Okay... maybe I'm just naive, (thank heaven's!!) but seriously....
What is it with net dudes thinking they can message/pm random girls and:
a) refer to them as "babe"/"baby"/"cutey"/etc... right off the bat w/o even introducing themselves!!!!
b) either....
1) demand the girl's e-mail addy....
2) demand the girl add them to her IM program.....
c) suddenly decide they want to get to know her "better" and ask for personal info....
Are they crazy?!?!? O.O Do I look like a first class idiot?!?!?
Like I'm going to:
a) give them my cell number...
b) give them my home addy...
c) meet up with them?!?!?!?!?!
Are most girls on the Interwebs really that easy/gullible/stupid?!?!
My goodness. It's no wonder parents don't want their pre-teen and teen age daughters online!!! If sooooo many guys think girls are this dumb... then there must be a reason.... *this thought makes me sick* Now, I can see a young insecure girl, falling for the flattery.... especially if they don't get it all the time in the "real world"... but whoa.. use some common scene girls...
I know there are tons of REALLY decent guys out there... *enter all of my guy friends*.... but seriously..... the idea, that there are people like that out there..... makes me realize exactly why I don't date. I wouldn't consider someone who wasn't a strong Christian in the first place, but I mean, I would literally have to turn really really stupid to fall for any of these guys on the net.... >.< style="font-weight: bold;">AWARE moderately mature 21 year old uni student.... I have been able to weed out and BLOCK the weirdos..... and I have managed to meet some interesting guys a girls from all over the world. Very nice people..... but all the trash you have to wade through, dodge, aggressively fight off..... it's just not worth it after a while..... >.< style="font-weight: bold;">especially anyone who is under 19 or 18.... If you're going to use the Net, make sure your parents, or someone tech savvy looks into whatever site you want to use.... then... if you really really want a social networking site to talk to your friends with, and you're parents think you're mature enough to handle it.... then..... the FIRST think you do is ask someone/ or figure out how to get into the privacy part of the site.... set it to the HIGHEST protection level you can. ONLY your friends should be able to see ANY info on your page. And friends should consist of people that you know personally, and OUTSIDE of the internet. I cannot stress this enough....
I love technology, the internet and connecting with my friends that I made at my University who have since gone back to their own countries.... It is a part of my every day life..... But, I have to be extremely cautious about a lot of things... I now know a couple of the warning signs.... but sometimes, by the time you've seen the warning signs.... it's already too late... the best thing to do, is just completely avoid all outside forces, until you go to a college/uni where you can actually meet people face to face. This doesn't mean that you won't run into bad people.... but it sure is a lot easier to judge people when they're standing in front of you, and not hiding behind a computer....
To the girls... and guys: Be Careful and Aware!!
To any guy who's ever called a female stranger--- babe, baby, chick, cutey, etc.... Get a Life, Get some Manners, and don't talk to me again until you've dropped the bravado and become a regular human being.

One Crazy Weirdo.... Thaz me!!!
Start time: 4:19... AM.... Saturday March 29, 2008.
Yeah... once again, what else would any other sane person do but write a blog at 4:20 in the morning!!?!? I ask you!!
Other than perhaps put on a "Lord of the Rings"-ish elf-ish costume and go wander the halls of her apartment??
Or......
You could be really cool and "normal" and do BOTH!! :D *looks around for a sympathetic face* .... (Being "normal" is so overrated BTW... "weird" ppl have WAY more fun... in fact, the even just the word "weird" is so Intense It Should Be Capitalized!! c",) Weird!!)
Anyways... so ------ yeah.
If you know me fairly well, you know I have a slightly less than normal "sleep" cycle... practically non-existent to down right Narcoleptic. Yeah, it's weird... so far the meds haven't helped much.... still working on that.....
What many of you may not know is what happens every now-and-then when I get bored being awake all by myself in the wee hours of the morning....
So, while the following situation isn't par normal for every night.... it really isn't that far of a stretch as far as what boredom can lead me to do. -.^
3:00 AM - I am going to my first Anime convention later today, Saturday as part of a class field trip, and I am still, at 4:31 AM, debating whether to wear a costume or not. See, the only remotely non-traditional clothes I have with me in Findlay consist of exactly one hoop skirt, and one silver LOTR style elf dress with white see-through medieval sleeves and a rather shocking green elvish cape... two of the three, obviously go together.....
But I wanted to see what the hoop-skirt would look like underneath the silver dress..... yeah.... the only really good mirror for seeing most of one's person, happens to be on the ground floor of my apartment building.... at 3:?? in the morning, I thought I was pretty safe. Didn't see anyone on the way down, but then as I was getting ready to go back up to my apartment, I heard the outside door opening.
(I forgot to mention that with the aforementioned outfit, I was also wearing hot pink knee socks, and blue/white/green/pink Tommy flip-flops..... visible beneath the hem of the dress.....)
By this point, I had also diverged myself of the hoop-skirt, and had it "slung" over one arm, and I had ditched the flip-flops next to the wall in the hallway. Upon hearing the return of one of my neighbors, I pulled a perfect copy of the "duck-and-cover" military action. Once I heard them go up the elevator, I presumed the coast was clear, flung myself back into my flip-flops and made a dash for the elevator.
While I was passing the outdoor entrance, I looked over ---- and there were two Cantonese guys, one of whom lives on the 2nd floor. Yeah... I'm not quite sure what they thought, but it was probably along the lines of huge ???s floating around their heads.... they decided to take the stairs.....
Since I've still got the hoop-skirt, and I've already been "spotted" I though, heck, I may as well put this in the car now, since I don't really want to haul it around in broad daylight. (Simple logic, right?!??!!?)
After ridding myself of said hoop-skirt I then wanted to see what all was offered at what appears to be an internet cafe in the building across the street... I figured, "They'll be closed by now, and I can take a leisurely look at what they've got offered."
Yeah, both my apt, and this place happen to be on Main St... and as dead as Findlay is after 8 at night, there are still a few cars roaming around at 3:15 on a Saturday morning. So I hid behind a convenient mail drop-off box behind some pretty wrought-iron fire-escape stairs. Once they had passed, I made my move around the corner onto Main St. and immediately halted. The light from the place was still streaming out of the glass front windows....
I started to inch towards it to "nonchalantly" walk past in my costume, when suddenly some kid comes popping out the front door!! O.O I turn in a swirl of lime-green cool cape-i-ness, and burn a trail back to my apt building.
I can just imagine what that poor kid must have been thinking..... "??!!?!??!??!?!?!?! What was that?!?!?!" Hope he wasn't too weirded out....
Anyways, so that's how I ended up here, now at 4:56 AM just finishing a thoroughly pointless post...
Now... I must slee................

Oh the cultural irony....
A South African-American girl sitting in her apartment in Tiny-ville, OH, USA eating French fries... with Chopsticks... and getting her stick-in-the-mud brother to do it too...
O.o O.O o.O
!!!LoL!!!
:D
* The stick-in-the-mud brother was feeling rather nonplussed at doing so... but it served it's purpose... he was no longer burning his fingers - you see the fries had just come out of the oven... ;)

中文
sssooo...... it's like 2am on Saturday the 22nd of December in the year 2007 A.D. and I'm dead tired, but can't sleep. *shocker* ( O.O ) So yeah... I was all like totally conked out on the floor around 12:30... then got up in search of warmer/comfier/more traditional sleeping accommodations.... and then found I was in the exhausted but can't sleep mode..... for the third month in a row. It really is annoying now that I am on break ~ for an entirely too-short 3 week break that is already 1/3 over :( *bad thoughts disappear* ~ because very very very soon I'll be back to overload stress levels with approximately 20 to 21 credit hours this semester. I will be attempting to avoid most of the Int'l students on campus come Spring '08 semester. Since I have no idea how to say, "No, I'm about to self-combust, I'm up to my hair follicles in my own work, I simply cannot help you." I have to try the duck and cover method.... (加油 - 芙蓉!!) ;) lol
Anyways.... and so... here I am. At 2:30am completely unable to sleep. ~ And when one can't sleep, what would any sane person do, but write on their blog!? (Duh!)
Yay - Learning Chinese is Fun - No - Seriously!!
I'm not kidding. I'm really starting to enjoy learning Chinese again. This semester has been great if for nothing else than I'm excited about it again.
During the course of this semester, I helped an Master's in Education student complete a project she had to conduct for one of her grad classes. She had to teach me some things that would be helpful for me in Taiwan. And then gather data and a whole bunch of information then do a final presentation in front of the class. It was a lot of fun.
The first thing on our list was Taiwanese phonics, because she cannot use the Chinese pinyin that I learned in a 1 semester, slightly lackluster culture/language class that was offered at the university. So - I memorized all 32 different sounds that are presented in the Taiwanese phonics... they start off something like this... these sounds are presented more in the pinyin style than in English phonetics.... But it'll give you a small idea of what you start with.
ba - pa - ma - fa - da - ta - na - la - ga - ka - ha - gi - qi - xi - jr - qr - xr - ri ......
Okay - Well I'm glad the image worked out... this is what the actual characters of the Taiwanese phonics look like.
Frankly, you just have to memorize them - just like the Chinese characters. This is not a language for people with bad memories. I was blessed with a pretty good memory, and I still have trouble remembering everything. I sure hope this gets easier when I move to Taiwan.... If it doesn't, I'm moving to Korea, permanently instead of just temporarily.
Okay-a ~ This has been a short introduction to what I learned at the beginning of this semester. I'm still trying to figure out how to type in Traditional characters which are the ones I'm learning to write since Taiwan, Macau, Hong Kong and some other Chinese speaking communities persist in using versus the much easier Simplified that is used in mainland China. *cry* Anyways. Once I have mustered up a little bit of knowledge, I will continue to show you what I have been learning. :D I really am very excited about it. Especially now that it's break and I no longer feel guilty or that I'm procrastinating by working on Chinese rather than doing my other boring homework. :(
Okay - I finally begin to feel sleepy, so I will try and take advantage of this fact and go in search of "The Sandman".
~ Happy Sleeping to All - And to All a Good Sleeping ~
- Cheers

Texting in class!! >:\
Okay... so here's my rant for the day. This probably won't be too long, it's just something that's been on my mind.
Kay, so there are a few people in my classes who persist at texting while class is in session.
I'm not trying to be a stick in the mud about it since I've been forced to respond to a person in class via text, but it was under rather extreme circumstances. Not to mention the frantic texts and calls were making my phone vibrate like crazy, which was also noticeable... So I was forced to type a quick response. I also apologized to the teacher afterwards, so I understand emergencies. However there are a few people in some of my classes who proceed to completely ignore the teacher and text the entire way through the class. *shrug* I don't know about you, but if I were the teacher and this one student did this in like every class, then my opinion of them would be seriously altered.
too be continued....
*Like 15 weeks later.... literally.... xD .... ooops.... sorry... he he....
okie-dokie.... picking up where I left off.....
I really don't see how the teacher would be able to really think well of any student who does this. No matter how much I like the person outside of class, or what my opinion of them was at the beginning of the year.... my opinion of them has changed.... What really gets me though, is that after going through all of this, the whole texting thing. One particular student then has the gall to complain that the teacher doesn't like them, and that they won't be able to make up an assignment that they missed in class.... Now I don't know about you. But that kinda seems like a no-brainer to me. I obviously appear to be wrong though.........
Anyways - I really can't believe it reeaaally took me this long to get back to finish this post. Gadzooks but I'm a rather terrible blogger. Lol. :D

???
Frankly, this is a test... I've been out of the magic-blogging-circle for a long time... so I'm back to the skill level of my loverly 84-year-old granny.... who is sweet.... but completely technology impaired...
Anyways, so here goes....
*Testing - Testing....

"So alone.... ... so alone!!! *whimper*..."
^^ My movie quote of the day...
So, anyway... just wanted to see what a real-actual-post would look like length wise... (We'll just have to imagine the substantial* parts of the post our self...)
I like the idea of adding pics/vids/substance/changing fonts/changing sizes/changing color/changing clothes/changing hair colors/changing eye colors.......... okay, this just got ridiculous...
- Cheers
p.s. Ratatouille the movie was hilarious... kinda creepy sometimes just cuz there are a few scenes with large amounts of rats scurrying round.... one cute little rat as the main character is hilarious, but the scenes of the rats running in droves, is all too realistic, and kinda gross.... *shudder* BUT... needless to say, it really is a cute little movie... ;)
*please insert some dissertation on Plato.... or rather Archimedes since I still have a grudge** against my Western Civ professor for making me read large sections of The Republic... :(
**I much preferred Aristotle's The Polis.... about 100 times more than The Republic...
Anyways, so here goes....
